A & J Firearms and Training Range Rules and Requirements

Four firearm Safety Rules - TO BE OBSERVED AT ALL TIMES

  1. Treat all firearms as though they were loaded.
  2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to fire.
  4. Be sure of your target, and WHAT IS BEYOND IT!

Gun Range Requirements

  1. Use of the range is limited to A & J Firearms and Training range members and their guests.
  2. All guests must be accompanied by an A & J Firearms and Training range member.
  3. ALWAYS wear eye and ear protection when on the range.
  4. All rounds must impact the berm.
  5. NO trap or skeet shooting.
  6. Targets must be no further than 6 feet from the berm.
  7. DO NOT shoot any range equipment, posts, supports or target frames.
  8. The muzzle of all firearms must be kept pointed downrange at all times. If exiting the range temporarily, leave all firearms on the firing line unloaded with the action open and the muzzle pointing downrange.
  9. Shoot only range-approved targets. Check with an A & J Firearms and Training representative to find out what types of targets are allowed.
  10. DO NOT shoot steel targets with rifles or pistols that use rifle ammunition.
  11. Shooting at anything other than your own target is strictly prohibited.
  12. Tracer or any ammunition considered to be incendiary, or explosive is prohibited on the firing range.
  13. Non-shooters must remain at least six feet behind the firing line whenever any shooter is at the firing line.
  14. Rifles must have sights to be used on our range.
  15. Pick up your own brass and garbage.
  16. All shooters must comply with all instructions from the range staff.
  17. Report any unsafe conduct to the range staff immediately.
  18. Any violation of range safety rules will result in IMMEDIATE REPRIMAND and possible DISMISSAL from the range.
  19. All handguns, rifles and shotguns are subject to approval. Any firearm or ammunition found to be unsafe or unserviceable will not be allowed onto the range.
  20. Wear appropriate attire to shield from hot shell casings.
  21. No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs is permitted on A & J Firearms and Training property.
  22. Food and drink are allowed only in designated areas
  23. NO smoking or smokeless tobacco in the store or on the range.
  24. All firearms on the firing line must be grounded and unloaded, with actions open whenever anyone is downrange.
  25. We recommend washing your hands after using the range.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

  1. Must be 18 or older to use the range unaccompanied.
  2. Minors (under 18 years old) must be at least 8 years old, and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
